Peppertree Steaks N Wine “The Tree” is committed to quality & customer service. We only select the freshest ingredients available to make our exquisitely prepared casseroles, fresh salads, dips & more that always meet our high standards. We source only the best quality fresh meats & ingredients that are available. Our Beef is Hand Selected which provides a very tender marbled steak that will melt in your mouth & which the butcher cuts fresh daily. We also take the best of care to make sure that everything that we cut, smoke & make is of the best quality-the kind that makes you feel like mom did the cooking! 

It has been that way since Jeff Verner & Kathy Holmes opened Peppertree Steak N Wine “The Tree” in 1998. Jeff has over 30 years of experience as a butcher and Kathy has over 30 years of experience buying & tasting wine and has tasted thousands of wines over the years; together they make the perfect team. Jeff with his two sons (Tyler & Hayden) handle all the grilling and Kathy all the chilling. At “the Tree” we’re just as enthusiastic about food and wine as you are. We are proud to be the place where the River Region shops for that special meal when you want an occasion to be memorable or just the right bottle of wine for a laid-back night at home. We strive to provide you with that same quality every day of the week with everything we offer. 

We make many different Heat N Enjoy Entrees for those who prefer the taste of home without the work Try our famous Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole or enjoy the simple comfort of a Chicken Pot Pie; every Friday & Saturday hot off the grill our BBQ Ribs or BBQ ½ chickens will hit the spot when you’re craving the taste of Barbecue at home. Our Daily Meat & Two special are perfect for when you are short on time, but you have a hungry family to feed. Looking for that hard-to-find cut of meat: a Hanger, a Tri-Tip, a Tomahawk or just wanting to expand your personal palate for wine. Let our very knowledgeable staff help.

KATHY HOLMES ANDREWS

With over 25 years of experience in wine selection, Kathy will help you select the perfect wine for your meal or mood. She offers service and superior knowledge to assist in selecting gourmet delicacies for your lifestyles and palette.

JEFF VERNER

CO-OWNER

Jeff has over 35 years of experience as a butcher. Jeff enjoys competing in the Alabama Wildlife Cook-off competition where he has won several 1st place awards in Fish, Game & Foul Divisions over the years. He also enjoys volunteering at Reality & Truth Ministries, where he & the team have fed the homeless for over 10 years.

ROD RUDOLPH

GENERAL MANAGER

Rod joined Pepper Tree Steak N Wines in 2014 and is responsible for overseeing the restaurant operations. He loves to help our customers expand their palette for wine with wine tasting events held most Thursdays. Rod's main goal is to assure that everyone who visits Pepper Tree Steaks N Wines experience an inviting environment, and ensuring that every experience in Pepper Tree has to offer is exceptional.

His Motto is “It’s never too early for a glass of wine!"

With a culinary background & experience at Pepper Tree Steak N Wine for over 20 years, Drew has an ever-expanding portfolio of new and exciting dishes. He is oversees all catering & special events food. He would love to come cook for you at your home for a special meal that will be the talk of the town.

KIM WESTFALL

CATERING MANAGER

Our newest addition to the team, Kim brings with her 20+ years of experience in the event & hospitality industry. She is in charge of overseeing all catering events & special events. She approaches every event, from galas and banquets to a dinner for two, with the upmost care and attention to detail with consideration to dietary restrictions, client preference, seasonality, and venue logistics.

YVETTE SANKEY

KITCHEN MANAGER

Yvette was a great addition to our ever growing Kitchen Staff. Yvette is dedicated to sourcing fresh & seasonal ingredients from local vendors that inspire Pepper Tree’s ever-changing menu from dips to entrees. She takes pride in the food that she and her staff prepare and treat every meal as if it were for her own family.
